Introduction to The XII Travelers Memorial of the SouthWest
The XII Travelers Memorial of the Southwest was initiated in 1992 as a downtown revitalization project for the City of El Paso,
Texas to enhance economic development, the tax base, tourism and the quality of life.
The memorial is a regional sculpture walk through history that honors the men and women and cultural diversity that contributed
to the historical development of the city and region. It will consist of twelve separate over life-size,
bronze monuments (sculpture groupings) that dramatically celebrate the history of El Paso and the American Southwest.
